The iMac G3 was the one and only personal computer that saved Apple during the days it was drowning. Designed by Jony Ive, the personal computer was launched on August 15th, 1998. Thanks to Ive for its design; the world saw a difference while all other computers were selling in shades of beige.

The design was state of the art and being translucent was a big step for Jobs' passion for perfection. This design was also inspired by the pop culture of the 1990s. The iMac G3 featured other innovations, like a hidden cable management compartment, the use of USB ports instead of Apple’s older proprietary connections, and an integrated design that made it a bit easier to set up than a traditional desktop. But those were small bonuses. We believe at Mortal the design was the big change.
